I teach ESOL/Language Arts to grades 10-12 My class is made up of curious, enthusiastic learners, who enjoy very much the use of technology during lessons. The majority of my students speak Haitian Creole, Spanish, Vietnamese. They love to make projects and express themselves artistically and to work on the computer.

I would love to provide my students with as much exposure to technology as possible. I currently have a SMART board in my class and would love to receive programs and educational games that I could use on the smart board to enhance my lessons. We are also in need of basic school supplies, chapter books for a classroom library, and a dvd player. I would really love a class response system in order too collect and tract my student's data.

About Me:
I have been teaching for the past eight years. I always knew that I wanted to work with teenagers, but my original plan was to do so as a juvenile attorney. When I finished school I was not sure of what Law school I wanted to go to. I took a job as substitute and fell in love with teaching, that fall I became a bilingual special education teacher. This was eight yers ago in my hometown of New York City, now I reside in Orlando, Florida and have continued working as an educator at the middle school level.
College and Degrees:
I went to John Jay College of Criminal Justice where I received my four year degree in Criminal Justice. I have taken grad courses but have not yet entered a program fulltime to receive my degree.
Activities:
I love to read and I stress this to my students, a big part of my teaching involves reading. I also love to draw and paint, photography, and going to the beach.
Favorite Books:
I just read and loved The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, and I am looking forward to reading his second book, 1000 Splendid Suns.

Interests:
My interests are many. I love to spend time near the water, ocean, rivers lakes, it brings me peace of mind. I want to continue growing in my career. I want to impact my kids lives and kow that they will be able to succeed.
Employment History:
I worked as a teacher for eight years, I have also held a job as a social worker and customer service representative.
Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I want to be an inspiration like the teachers who inspired me when I was younger. I want to ensure that economically disadvantaged kids get the education that they are entitled to.My students mean a lot to me and I want to make sure that they have someone on their side.
