Class Description:
I teach a sheltered English course called Developing Readers and Writers Course (DRWC) for students who are behind in grade level and/or learning English as a second language (ELL).

Needs:
Technology in the classroom. We currently use a overhead projector to delivery most of the instruction. It would be nice to have a Document Reader or projector with a laptop, so I could expose the students to more sophisticated lessons.
My Philosophy:
Education is the key to our future. We need to prepare our future teachers, doctors, and lawyers so they can compete in the new world. Technology is taking off and our students are being left behind. I would like to bridge that gap if I could.

About Me:
I am a five year English teacher who transitioned from the corporate arena to see if I could make a difference for our youth. I am also a single mother of two daughters. My eldest is in the masters program at Hampton University. My youngest is a sophomore at Hampton University.

Why Do I Teach?:
To prepare our youth for the type of future that I would like to live in. They will be voting and making decision once I'm retired. I'd like to make sure they are prepared for this.
