Class Description:
I am currently the new Technology Teacher at Newman Elementary in El Paso, Texas. We are located in one of the lower disadvantaged economies in El Paso. The computer lab that I oversee is open to all grade levels. It is used for testing, instructional purposes, videos, etc.

Needs:
There are so many needs that Newman presently has. Technology happens to be one of its biggest. It is a goal to get the students up to technological standards. When I see so much excitement in the students' eyes as they come into the lab, there is much that should be done to keep this wonderful feeling alive. But, we need the resources to do that. Newman Elementary is appreciative for any donations that it receives. Such donations will be used to by the hardware/softwareto increase student learning and help them succeed in areas such as Math and Reading.
My Philosophy:
Every child, every day!!!! Everyone should have the same chance to learn as the next person. It is up to the teachers in America to make this happen!!!!

About Me:
I am the new Technology Teacher at Newman Elementary this 2008-2009 school year. This is my third year teaching total. I previously taught at a high school in San Antonio, Texas. I am currently married and have four beautiful little children. They keep me young and remind how important it is to be a role model for their future success.
College and Degrees:
BA in Computer Science-Lakeland College-12/2003 MAin Teaching-Ashford University-5/2007 Hopefullysoon to start on Doctorate Degree!
Activities:
Fishing, hunting, camping, swimming, going to the beach, spending time with family, reading, shopping!

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach to help our children of today succeed. When I fast forward history and try to look at what will come, I begin to worry. I want our children to be ready for what challenges they may face in the future!!! It is the knowledge that they learned in school that will help them to brainstorm ideas to prepare them for a better tomorrow.
