Arlington Classics Academy
Class Information:
Room Number: 178
Students per Class: 440
Class Description:
I am this school's first technology teacher. I teach students in K-6 grades technology skills such as researching skills, Microsoft Office skills, keyboarding, and more! I meet with each class once a week for 40 minutes.
Position:
Technology Teacher
Needs:
I have a new room this year where I get to set up a new computer lab. I am also starting a TV station for the students here. It would be great to have a classroom set of digital camera's to teach students about photography, and a new laptop for the TV station.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy is to teach technology skills through the curriculum. Working with each classroom teacher, I come up with ideas to use what the students are learning in class to use with the technology skills that I teach
Personal Information:
About Me:
I have been teaching for 5 years. I began as a fourth grade teacher for the first 3 years. This is where I began to fall in love with integrating technology into my classroom. I than moved to 3rd grade for a year when I decided I really wanted to teach technology. So I found Arlington Classics Academy, a school with no technology plan in place, and they hired me to teach K-6 technology as well as hold technology staff development sessions for the staff.
College and Degrees:
I have a BSE in Elementary Education from the University of Kansas. I also hold my TCCC certification in Technology.
Interests:
Teaching piano lessons, I LOVE video editing, am currently learning more about Dreamweaver because web design really interests me!
