Class Description:
I teach in a small school in Texas. Our region and school was devasted by the hurricane Rita. Many of our students lost their homes to this hurricane. My home was destroyed and I am just now getting my life back to normal. I can not spend money on my classroom. I desperately need help.

I want to teach using the cutting edge of technology. I know that children learn best when they are having fun. I feel like first grade is such an important grade in the lives of my students. I want learning to be a life long journey that starts in my classroom.

About Me:
I am a little first grade teacher from Texas. My dad has a ranch in Warren, Texas. I am married with 2 children. I live in a city called Port Neches. I am 5 foot and my husband is 6 foot 4.
College and Degrees:
BS in Elementary Education, Reading Specialist certification, Early Childhood Certification, GT certification at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas
Activities:
I like to shop and enjoy the different sites our world has to offer. I love to go on cruises. We are going to Alaska this summer. YEEHAW!

I love Stephen King books.

Piaget stated "the best way to teach a child is through play". This is my motto that I live by. If I can teach my children in a fun way, then that is what I will do.
Interests:
I love to travel and see different parts of our world. I am an avid gardener. I love all kinds of sports. My favorite thing to do is to hang out on a beach. I would love to be a beach bum.
Employment History:
I have taught for 26 years. I started out teaching kindergarten for 2 years. I have spent the last 24 in first grade. I love first graders. Something about first grade is truely magical.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love children. I think teaching should be an adventure. I am always trying to learn new techniques and strategies to help me be a better teacher. I come from a family of teachers.
