Our classroom is made up of 8 students with a diagnosis of autism. Our students are 2 years old. They come to my classroom after they have received a diagnosis of autism. We teach both the student and the family.

Needs:
When students begin in our classroom they are non-verbal. We start them with a picture communication book. We need technology that will enable us to quickly create communication books that can be used in the classroom and in the home. Transitions are also very difficult for our students. We use pictures to create schedules that will enable our students to transition to the next activity without falling apart. The same materials we create for the classroom we create for the home, to enable the family to develop the same skills we develop in the classroom.
My Philosophy:
We are dedicated to both our students and their families to provide early intervention for students with autism to enable these students to be independent in the home and prepare them for their future in education and within their community.
