I currently teach a 5th grade Advance Program class at Bowen Elementary. These are students that learn at a higher level and need challenging curriculum and projects.

Needs:
I started a class podcast last year and need the technology to help it become successful. With only 1 camera and 29 students, it is difficult for all of the students to be reporters and camera operators.
My Philosophy:
All children can learn regardless of socio-economic status, learning disabilities, family issues, family status, etc. Given the opportunity to learn in exciting, fun classrooms, all children can succeed!

About Me:
I am a 41 year old mother of 2. My oldest (stepson) is 23 and will graduate from college in December. My youngest is 13 and is in the 8th grade.
College and Degrees:
I received my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Elementary Education from Indiana University Southeast. I received my Principal Certification from Indiana University Southeast as well.

Employment History:
I have taught for the Jefferson County Public Schools for 17 years. The last 12 years have been spent at Bowen Elementary School.
Why Do I Teach?:
I have always been a teacher, even when I was younger, I was the teacher. I believe in our future, and our future is our children. Our children need the skills to help them be self-sufficient adults. Our future is the digital world and our children need to be proficient in working with technology.
