I currently have a group of 23 brilliant students! We love to create interactive presentations and review activities, publish our writing in different multimedias, and take virtual field trips!
Position:
5th Grade Teacher
Needs:
Engaging students in their own learning is a priority for me! Even though we have a brand-new school, we struggle sharing access to the available technologies. We only have 2 computers in our classroom, and share laptop carts with the rest of the building. Reserving the laptops and SmartBoards is next to impossible, especially during SOL review time! We also only have 2 SmartBoards to share with the rest of the 700+ students in our school!
Personal Information:
College and Degrees:
I attended SUNY Cortland in New York and earned both a BA in Advertising, and an MST in Teaching. I am currently taking courses to add a Gifted and Talented endorsement to my teaching certificate!
Favorite Books:
The Westing Game, The City of Ember, The Gollywhopper Games, Hatchet, The 39 Clues series
Favorite Quotes:
Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough. - Emily Dickinson
Employment History:
This will be my second year at Laurel Meadow Elementary, teaching 5th grade!
Why Do I Teach?:
I love learning, and sharing that excitement with students. I recognize the world is changing in ways that we can't even anticipate yet, and we need to empower our students to take charge of their own experiences!
