Class Description:
My classroom is made up of twenty-one five and six year olds. These kids range from low income to middle class. They are all different races. My classroom usually is made up of a good amount of students who do not speak english as their primary language. In a classroom of 21 this year, 14 spoke a different language at home other than english. These kids are precious little ones who are always the sparkle in my eye. They have so much personality and so much potential.

Needs:
We are in need of new classroom computers. Right now we have three student computers and one teacher computer that are very old. Most of the time, they are unable to function at all. -- very old equipment. My students are from many different backgrounds. We have many students who are English Language Learners and who are very low income. Since I am a kindergarten teacher who teaches English Language Learners who are at the beginning of language acquisition, I really rely heavily on technology to help bridge the communication gap. Many times when trying to explain something (maybe that which some have never seen before), I rely on realia (pictures and united streaming) from the internet. It takes me so long to get these computers to even log on and many times we have to do without the realia that is so important to these kids for those connections and learning experiences. Even if we could just have one workable computer, it would be so beneficial. Thanks
