My Philosophy:
The key to what society will face in the future rests on the values and skill sets passed on by role models (parents, teachers, sport leaders and the community at large). A teacher must encourage each individual student to become the best they can be. When teaching, I begin with the end in mind. Where do I want my students to be once they have completed any given project? What knowledge and skill sets should they have obtained by the end of the course? Technology is ever changing. What students learn in the classroom today will be obsolete in few years. I am most interested in teaching concepts to build and enhance current skill sets. To help them decipher problems and develop solutions. They need to be able to adapt those skills and concepts to an ever changing environment. The responsibility of encouraging students to become responsible leaders, advocates of democracy, role models, and productive citizens is placed upon the entire community. I want my students to understand they live in a pluralistic society and if they work together, they can contribute to a bright future.
