Class Description:
This Title I (High Poverty) school has approximately 500 students K5-5th grade. Art classes are seen once a week for 45 minutes. Visual Art activities can be individualized, customized to a class or cross grade levels by teaching advancing skills, greater cognitive development, and personal expression.
Position:
Art Teacher
Needs:
The students need to keep pace with a fast moving technological world that continually requires increasing visual acuity and forms of communication. Digital photography and webpage design is a stepping stone to some of the more aggressive forms of communication technology.
My Philosophy:
Leonardo daVinci explained his great genius simply, "Saper Vedere" , to know how to see. In our increasingly technological and visual world it is imperative that one learn how to see in order to make more meaningful judements and create greater visual expression. Teaching this ability to students from simple lines to complex digital arrays has no limits in expression or communication.

Why Do I Teach?:
Why? I teach art mainly because I love it, I love my job and, in part, because I never had art when I went to school, it was not even offered. Why? To give an advantage to those who are and those who are not visually talented. Also, it's fun.
