I teach in a school with 65% of the population on free and reduced lunch. My students are heterogenously grouped with special needs students mainstreamed into the classes. I have approximately 25 students per class.

Needs:
Because I teach in a school with a high poverty rate, my students often do not have the opportunities that their wealthier counterparts might have. I need cameras and printing supplies to teach them that elements and principles of design through photography.
My Philosophy:
At the end of each school day, I want to look back and say, "Today, I made a difference!"

Why Do I Teach?:
Teaching is a profession in which a person can make a difference in the lives of young people. It is a huge responsibility with great rewards. I have a firm belief that everyone can be successful in art. That success in art often breeds life-long intellectual curiousity.
