St. John Paul II Catholic High School
Class Information:
Room Number: 107
Students per Class: 70
Class Description:
I offer Spanish I, Spanish II, and Dual Credit Spanish III. All of my curriculum is based on Comprehensible Input (Total Physical Response Storytelling). It is the only method for teaching foreign language that has been researched to show amazing results.
Position:
Spanish
Needs:
I am in need of a new, faster computer (preferably Mac) and a new ipad for testing. I also need subscriptions to various software packages in order to begin development of my online project. Specifically I would like the following: MacBookPro 16" iPad 12.9" GameSalad software subscription: $149 per year (two years preferred) SpeecheloSoftware $150 for the pro version
My Philosophy:
There is one downside to Comprehensible Input. It works best in a classroom environment and up to this point it has not been adapted to online acquisition. While there are some learning platforms that are similar, nothing quite compares to the live experience at this point. I and finding that with the current situation, and possibly a similar future, there needs to be a way for students all of ages and demographics to be able to learn a foreign language that is structured as closely as possible to the classroom setting. Eventually I would also like to teach students how to use GameSalad and create their own activities that also help students learn the foreign language.

About Me:
I have been teaching Spanish for 17 years. I started teaching in the traditional manner because that is all I knew how to do. However, when I participated in my Master's program, I learned about TPRS and from there my search has been to make my classroom experience the best one it can be so my students can learned the most they can.
