I will be teaching 7th graders for the first time. I've taught 10th graders for 17 years so this is a change! I will have 5 classes of 25 students each, all of which are heterogeneously mixed, including inclusion students.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
I am looking to acquire 8 digital cameras to be used for a variety of classroom lessons, along with a photo quality color printer.
My Philosophy:
I believe in lots of group work where students learn deductively. I like to present problems for them to solve. Anytime I acquire equipment, I am sure to use it for many different activities throughout the year. I would use cameras for lab safety pictures, classification, even marking trail wildlife on the adjacently owned school nature trails.

Why Do I Teach?:
There is nothing else that challenges or grounds me as well. Kids are brutally honest and if your heart isn't in the moment with them, they let you know. I love the rewards of teaching, of seeing interest spark, of seeing kids embrace the lesson, even if it means going out of their comfort zone when they have to act or sing.
