Allison Park Elementary School

Canonsburg
Class Information:
Room Number: C 112
Students per Class: 12 Gifted & 39 Title I Math
Class Description:
Half of my day, I teach Title I Math and the other half I teach K-6 gifted students. You could say I teach both ends of the spectrum. On one hand, I reteach and remediate a great deal and the other end I have to hit the ground running so my students don't pass me up.
Position:
Gifted Support
Needs:
My students could benefit from the use of a Smart Board. I use video streaming to engage my students when I introduce a new topic. We huddle around a personal computer to view the selected materials. One of my students commented that, "It would be so cool to see this bigger than life." I investigated how I could make this dream a reality and a Smartboard fit the bill.
My Philosophy:
While challenges to meet the needs of all of my students are a way of life for me, I enjoy every minute. I feel that to do the best possible job, I must keep learning.
