We are a very poor community, but we are definitely a community! The saying that it takes a village to raise a child is taken seriously here. Because of our economic status, our needs are numerous. Our students cannot afford even the basics like food, housing and clothing sometimes, so technology is way down at bottom of most of the families lists. Our needs many, but I want to put our students on a level playing field with the more affluent children so that they can compete for scholarships and college acceptance.
My Philosophy:
I believe that all students want to feel successful and that it is my job to help them reach that point. Not all of our students are going to be doctors and lawyers, but that doesn't make any one of them less deserving of our time, attention and love.
