I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia but have lived in Charleston for more than 25 years. I have two grown children, Amy and Adam, and a very humble Carolina Yellow Dog named Charlie. Both children were raised and schooled Charleston, SC. They received their initial technology instruction in school from their mom. I have been teaching children for approximately 28 years. I graduated from the University of West Georgia with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I am currently working on my Masters Degree in Educational Technology. In 2003 I came to James Island Elementary to teach third grade. Prior to this, I taught Computer Education at Harbor View Elementary for 16 years. Previous to that, I taught two years at Mitchell Elementary School in the computer lab. Because of this experience, I have a strong background and interest in technology and love to use it in everything I teach. Writing is a particular favorite of mine so my students use the computer to write in many different genres.
