Class Description:
The G/T Quest Program provides gifted services to gifted students with factors, ie. low socio-economic status, cultural or linguistic differences. The goal of the program is to provide rigorous, accelerated and enriched curricula to students to challenge them commensurate with their abilities. In addition to Gifted language arts, math enrichment, the students are given opportunities to explore positive leaders, space and the planets, and the world around them.

We need 2 flip cameras to document student work and presentations.
My Philosophy:
I believe that all children should be given the opportunity to reach their potential. Gifted children from poverty or low-socioeconomicstatus need to know that they too can achieve their dreams with the right skills and the right work ethic. I believe that parents need to be encouraged to see what their children are capable of doing so they can become partners. Children from poverty and cultural linguistic differences need to be exposed to many enrichment activities so they can dream! I believe in my students, their families and the community, which supports their learning.

About Me:
I am the mother of two very successful children who had opportunity when they were growing up. My daughter, who considers herself a global citizen, has lived in Mexico, Brazil and China. She attributes her success to strong family support and a good education. My son, who lives in Maine, is very successful in technology. While he was my difficult child, he attributes his success to his parents' persistence and hard work. I love to teach, travel, learn languages, read, and dance.

MA plus 55+ hours

Dancing, hiking, reading
Why Do I Teach?:
Teaching has always been a passion of mine. As the teacher of the Gifted, Quest Program, my mission is to give students the necessary skills to positively impact the 21st century with their leadership and achievements.
