Teen Leadership is a program in which students develop leadership, personal, and business skills. They learn to develop a healthy self-concept, healthy relationships, and learn to understand the concept of personal responsibility. Students will develop skill in public speaking and communication and an understanding of personal image. They will also develop an understanding of the need for vision in goal setting, personal and professionally.
Career Investigations is a class designed to help students start focusing on their futures. Although, they are in middle school now, high school is right around the corner. Therefore, preparation for the upcoming years is very important. We will discuss topics such as their interests, abilities, money management, decision-making, planning their high coursework, and career planning. Students will also have the privilege to work cooperatively with their classmates on career specific workstations. Each workstation will have pre-designed lessons that will introduce students to that particular career area.

My Philosophy:
I believe that it is my responsibility to create a nurturing safe environment for every student; one that they can grow in and feel valued. It is my goal to spark the child’s interest and make what is being taught in class relative to the “real world” to ensure that our children can and will use the skills gained to progress in high school and beyond. I value every student as an individual and believe that it is important to have parental guidance and support in the classroom and at home.
