Very bright students. They are considered to be advanced level or gifted.
Position:
Gifted/Advanced Reading Teacher
Needs:
The students constantly need to be challenged. Technology is the best way to achieve this.
My Philosophy:
I believe that all children should be pushed to work to their potential. Students need a rigorous and relevant way to learn. With students having so much technology at their fingertips, our classes need to be as up-to-date or we will loose their attention. I want my students to have the best so they can be the most successful and reaching my learning goals.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I have been teaching since 1988 with a 4 year break to stay home with my children. I love teaching and animals too. I have continued to push my self to become the best I can be so that my students benefit from the knowledge I have obtained.
College and Degrees:
I have a BS degree in Elementary Education 1-6 and a Master's degree in Reading K-12. I am National Board Certified and I have a Science certification to teach grades 5-9. On top of that, I am certified to teach Gifted children too.
Activities:
Teaching myself the lates technology so that I can share it with my students.

Interests:
I love science and try to intergrate that with my reading program as much as possible. I live near the beach and like to walk it when I can. I also am a life long learner and plan on working on my Doctorate in the near future.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because I love children and the challenge they give me to be the best I can be. I want to make a difference in their world and instill a love for learning by making it fun and exciting!
