American and World History Classes, alternating Gov't and Economics classes, and now a Media Technology class.
Alternative school in a public district- we PRIDE ourselves, on relationship, relationship, relationship with our students.
Students may not be able to "handle" comprehensive (30+ per class) high schools with thousands of students. We work one-on-one with our kids- we KNOW them.
In year four, we now have friends and siblings of past students attending PTC because of our prorgam!
We help those kids and schools who do NOT fit together~ and we achieve our goals of graduating kids and furthering student achievement.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
We have almost -0- dollars for electives and could use money for art supplies (new art teacher/program),and my media class could use their own camera equipment (digital cameras and tripods)and "desktop" studios in which to film.
Any and ALL help is greatly appreciated in helping our kids realize their potential.
My Philosophy:
All students/kids CAN achieve: it takes teacher AND school commitment.
We, at PTC, take students others schools cannot, or do not have time, to handle/teach/inspire.
Webelieve, and I personally believe, if a child wants to learn, they can- with the rights tools, incentive and support, in and out of school.
