Class Description:
I work with children ages 3-5 years old. It is a theme- based preschool classroom where the students learn their letters and sounds along with the theme of the week. The students also have free time to play with the toys and games in our room.

Needs:
My classroom needs a listening center. I am always modeling what good readers do when I read to the children. However, I would like for the students to be able to hear someone else reading to them as they follow along with the book.
My Philosophy:
I believe that students should learn in a fun, caring,inclusive environment. I believe that students should take some responsibility for their learning and become independent readers and writers.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am 27 years old and it is my second year at St. Margaret of Scotland. I am a teacher's aide and help the lead teacher in the classroom. I have lived in South City for the past year and a half.
College and Degrees:
I graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 2006 with a Bachelors in elementary education and early childhood education. I am currently working on my masters to become a reading specialist at UMSL.

Interests:
I enjoy exercising, watching movies, being with friends, and am currently planning for my wedding.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach, because I love to see the "aha" moments that students get when they understand something. I enjoy working with the students and getting to know their personalities. The students give me the energy to keep going and encourage me to plan fun lessons for them to participate in.
