Class Description:
I have a very diverse classroom. They are of a lower socioeconomic group. We have about a 90-95% free and reduced lunch program in our building. It is like an inner city school with a small town atmosphere. Everyone knows everyone and their business, but the students have the same issues as children from the inner city. Crime, drugs, single mothers, poverty, and no support system.

Needs:
These children have many needs. I try to supply as many as I can with the basic school supplies as I can because they do not even have the basics. With all the cuts the government is enforcing on education the extras have been gone for a while.
My Philosophy:
My philosophy is an eclectic one. I believe in constructivism for the children who are in need of that developmentally especailly in the area of mathematics. I also believe in teaching to the whole child, because the whole child needs to learn.
