Biology I is a survey course that covers cells, scientific method, DNA & RNA, protein synthesis, principals of heredity, evolution, classification and ecology
Position:
Biology/Life Science Teacher
Needs:
I would love to have the clicker system to gauge when my classes are "getting it" and when I need to try a different approach. I would also love to have the interactive slate so that I can go back to moving around my classroom, while the smartboard is a wonderful tool, I feel like I'm on a leash and less accessible to my students. I would also love a good digital camera for my students so that they could document their projects and products for their portfolios, many are too big to place in the portfolio and keep.
My Philosophy:
I truely believe that students must enjoy coming to your classroom and feel safe, not only physically safe, but emotionally safe to take chances and ask questions. I also believe that I am 100% better out in the class helping them do hands on material then I am at the front of the classroom lecturing. My students love coming to biology and I love seeing them come through the door.
