We are a Montessori Community of multi-aged homerooms who spend our day interacting with each other through team teaching and small flexible groups. We strive to not just meet our students needs... but surpass them; to follow each child guiding him or her toward the person he or she is meant to be.
Position:
U.E. Teacher
Needs:
We need to put the tools for success in the hands of our children. They need manipulatives to form a concrete understanding of concepts. They need real world experiences to apply abstract reasoning in a meaningful way. They need technology to realize they truly do have the world at their fingertips. Most of all, we need to create a prepared environment to foster independence and intrinsic motivation.
My Philosophy:
I believe children are not statistics on a piece of paper. Give me any statistic and I will tell you about a child who makes that statistic untrue. The quality of a child's education is ultimately defined by the child. However, It is up to the adults to never allow a child to feel invisible. It is up to the adults to guide every child toward the endless possibilities of “who” he or she could potentially be.

Why Do I Teach?:
It's said that a picture can speak a thousand words. I think that's true. But the smile of a child who realizes his potential, finds his voice... . There's no comparison! I feel lucky to witness this over and over again. I teach because everyone deserves to have a voice, to be heard, and to do great things.
