When my students enter my classroom they can expect to be exposed to language. Not just the one I teach, but as much as I can! Communication is the most basic need of any relationship, I hope to offer my students the tools they need to help foster any future relationship that they may encounter!

I am very actively involved as a teacher in my state. I am the lead ASL teacher for my county, I serve on the board for my state ASL organization and serve as a mentor to new ASL teachers.

There are so many things I enjoy, but unfortunately have little time for. I enjoy reading, photography, camping, animals, etc.
Employment History:
I have been teaching American Sign Language for 12 years. My career started at one school where I stayed for 4 years. When the program decreased to 1 teacher, I transferred to my current school where I have been for the past 7 years.
Why Do I Teach?:
I enjoy being the tourguide for my students as they journey to the Deaf world of Eyeth. It is my pleasure to share with them about Deaf people, their language and their culture. The greatest compliment I have ever received is "Mrs. Olmstead I signed with a Deaf person!" as they beam from ear to ear!
