My class currently has 23 students. Of these students 12 are boys and 11 are girls. My students are a group of students who like to solve problems and work in groups. Most of my students are above grade level, however I have a few students who are in need of additional small group instruction.
Position:
teacher
My Philosophy:
I believe all students can learn, but they don't learn the same way. I try to meet the needs of all of my students by varying how I teach my lessons. I include technology, hands-on, music, and group work.

About Me:
This is my 13th year of teaching. I have taught grades 1, 2, and 3. For the past several years I have been teaching a 2/3 looping class. I received National Board certification in 2004. I attended graduate school and got my masters in Reading Education in 2011.
I teach because I want my students to love learning. I am a life-long learner myself and I constantly strive to find a new way to teach in my classroom. I want my students to want to be life-long learners as well. Working with students and seeing their eyes light up when they learn something new or make a connection, has always been important to me.
The students we are teaching today need to be 21st century learners. Employers today want students who are problem solvers, able to work in a group, and know how to use technology. I strive to make my students successful in all of these areas.
