Class Description:
My students consist of 7th graders who, for the most part,are SocioeconomicallyDisadvantaged (58.5%) or have other issues that hinder there learning. My classes average around 30 students.
Position:
LA and World History Teacher
Needs:
Computers: the room is wired for 8 computers - I have four old ones and two ancient ones. Computer tablet for instruction. Microsoft2007 - PowerPoint.
My Philosophy:
I want to empower all my students to be successful lifelonglearners and citizens. This can only be accomplished by providing a motivating, non-prejudicial, safe and well-cared for environment. I believe that students can and want to achieve if they are given the tools to do so.
*Personal Information:*
About Me:
I am ADHD - dyslexic - with information processing reading problems. I can understand my students problems (an their parents) and not let them use them as an excuss.
Why Do I Teach?:
I always wanted to teach but I did not go to college until my last child did - I finished before he did. I love teenagers - I know, I'm touched in the head, but they keep me on my toes and YOUNG. I want to help them succeed - they are the future.
