Epson PowerLite LCD Projector, $999.95, 0.00% raised
Epson PowerLite LCD Projector Rank:
Single Unit Why I need this:
The Alameda High History department is in need of another LCD projector. The last one (after 5 years) was rather cheap and is beyond a bulb replacement. This would cover the needs of at least two teachers and over 300 students for the next 5 years (or more).
Quantity: 1 Price: $999.95

Alameda High School
Hometown:
Denver
Class Information:
Room Number: 303
Students per Class: 195
Class Description:
This class is on the 3rd floor of the historic building. Large 12 ft high ceilings and windows to match. However the room is much to crowded for 35 plus teenagers, desks and desktop computers.
Position:
teacher
Needs:
40 net-books (mini-laptops) for the classroom. Small-scale server. Pod-casting equipment for live on-line instruction. Public speakers (most topics accepted).
My Philosophy:
Less paper products and more engaging technology that will entice students to learn.I dream of a paper-less classroom. Although iPods, smart-phone and blackberry's are considered a nuisance by the school, this social networking generation is our future. Let us teach the lesson they need to know in the language they speak.

Employment History:
This is my 4th Spring with Alameda High...my first full-time teacher gig. All before was for my credential. I currently teach: Modern World History, Government/Economics,and AVID. I have taught: geography, English (9th and 10th) and Sheltered U.S. History.
Why Do I Teach?:
The elements of learning something new and teaching it as well as watching the students make those leaps of faith with you. Story telling is a big part of it. Also a person with a short attention span I am NEVER bored.
