Class Description:
My classroom is a place where learning is FUN! And yes, that is my phrase - by the 4th week of school, when I go over our daily schedule, I always manage to say "and in math today we are doing a fun lesson on..." and my students interject with "you say everything is fun!" Yep. That's the truth! But I will say, that in making learning fun, I am helping to grow lifelong learners at the tender age of 8 - 9 - 10.

Technology! I am a technology fanatic and am always looking for more ways to incorporate technology into the classroom and place it directly into the hands of my students.
My Philosophy:
I believe that all children are special, unique beings who are capable of learning anything! I strive to be the teacher that turns on the love of learning and encourage all my students to embrace their own uniqueness on their journey.

About Me:
I'm an Elementary teacher who LOVES her job! I do enjoy my vacations too, but I don't think I've yet made it through a vacation without visiting my classroom at least once! (And yes, this includes the week long winter break, etc) I find that by staying on the "up-and-up" with technology, literature for children, educational advances, and anything that will keep my love of learning fed!

Reading, horseback riding, reading, photography, reading, yoga, reading, teaching kids yoga, reading, computers, reading, graphic design, and did I mention reading?

Anything by Andrew Clements; the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer; Chasing Vermeer, The Wright Three, Calder Games by Blue Balliet; Secret School by Avi; and many more that I can't think of at the moment...

Employment History:
Same school, same room, same place for the last 7 or so years and I still love it!
Why Do I Teach?:
Because I was the kid that didn't like school. I was the kid who never did well in school, even though I was brighter than a lightbulb. I was the kid who performed well when I connected with the teacher. Now, I'm that teacher.
