My Philosophy:
Teaching is all about engagement. If I can get a group of students engaged, I can teach them! I can have the best lesson in the world, but if I don't have the students' attention and engagement it won't do any good. For me, teaching is about finding ways to get students moving, interacting, and owning their learning. My classroom is rarely a quiet one, and I love it!

About Me:
Middle School Teacher 2007-present: I love teaching the middle grades! I have taught math, science, and social studies. Our district also places a strong emphasis on reading/writing within each discipline. As a result, there is a literacy focus within all of my classes. 21st century skills and technology incorporation are also a strong focus for me.

Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Emphases: Social Studies and Adaptive Education
