I teach a variety of age groups from 9-12 grade and all learning levels. I try to provide opportunities for my students that encompass two dimensional and 3 dimensional art forms. With technology as it is these days, I need to incorporate more digital art platforms into my content.
Position:
Visual Arts Educator
Needs:
We need multiple licenses for the Adobe Creative Suite Program and multiple ipads to use the adobe programs.
My Philosophy:
On the first day of class this semester, I asked students to share their biggest challenge with attending school during quarantine the previous semester. Over and over again, students mentioned motivation and stress. Our students need an outlet to express themselves, get lost in an artwork process and share their stories in order to cope and get beyond their challenges. Creating art can not only help in changing the world, but can be therapeutic for all.
Not only do I want students to have an art form to share their voice to aid in making change in society or building awareness, but I want them to have opportunities on a local and national level to compete in art competitions to earn money and recognition. Competitions play a role and offer a chance for students to be self motivated, showcase skills, and uncover personal aptitude.
