Class Description:
I do not have an individual classroom. I am the instructional facilitator on my campus, so I go in and out of all of the classrooms and I work with students at all grade levels (K-5) and at all ability levels.

Needs:
Our greatest need at the campus level in technology that our students can get their hands on. We recently received a small sum of money to get Palm Pilots for one fourth grade class. The kids have to share with each other, but they are totally engrossed while they are using the Palm. It is amazing how engaged they become in the projects they are working on, when technology is integrated into the assignment.
My Philosophy:
I guess that I would have to say that my philosophy goes hand in hand with my technology wishes. I would like for every student that I deal with to become an independent problem solver with strong thinking skills. In education today, we can not just teach content. We must teach children how to think so that they are prepared for tomorrow's world.

About Me:
I am married with two teenage boys. I also have two puppies that entertain me constantly with their antics. I taught first grade for 20 years and have been a facilitator for the past three years.
College and Degrees:
I attended Fort Hays State University in northwest Kansas. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
Activities:
I make wedding cakes in my free time and I love to garden and decorate.

My favorite author is Nicholas Sparks. I love all of his books!

Why Do I Teach?:
I enjoy teaching so much that I tutor children individually after school hours. I love children. With elementary children, there is still a passion or desire to learn more.
