Why Do I Teach?:
I love working with kids who have faced trauma and teaching them to love school again and focus on something good in their life. In the end though, they are the ones who end up teaching me so much. I want to be the teacher to them that I would want my own children to have. I treat each of my kids (students) like they are my own children! Encouraging them, loving them, setting them up for success and pushing them, celebrating accomplishments with them, but also holding them accountable when they make a bad choice. However, they still know that I love them even when they make a mistake. I want nothing but success for my kids who might often "slip through the cracks" otherwise. I fight for my kids in every way possible rather it be resources, opportunities, etc. They deserve every opportunity to be successful!
