No matter how many years I teach, I want to grow and learn myself. I want to continue to produce fresh ideas and try new approaches to reach each and every child and help them realize their potential. I want to remain flexible in my teaching and adjust my approaches as needed, as well as use my colleagues as great resources.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I grew up in the snowy north in Dearborn, MI (a suburb of Detroit) where I attended school. I received my bachelor’s degree from Albion College in French and Elementary Education. My search for a teaching job led me to Asheboro and a job at Farmer Elementary. I had never been to North Carolina before, but I feel very blessed to have been guided here.
I am currently in graduate school at Elon University, studying towards my master’s degree in Elementary Education. I love to learn new things and share creative ideas with fellow colleagues, as well as push and question my own thinking and theory.
In my free time I enjoy reading, watching hockey (Go Detroit Red Wings!), traveling, and the outdoors.

Why Do I Teach?:
I love nourishing young students' minds and helping them become responsible, inquisitive discoverers of their world. I have come to realize that one can touch a child’s life in so many ways. When I teach, I don’t just teach academics; I teach life lessons, manners, and responsibility. I let each student know that there is at least one person in the world that cares about them, wants the best for them, and is going to push them to try their hardest. That person is their teacher.
