I teach computer technology for grades K-5. I also work with the classroom teachers to integrate technology into their classrooms.
Position:
Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT)
Needs:
We are working on integrating technology into the classrooms as well as making learning more interactive. Any SMARTBoards that are donated will be placed in one of our K-5 classrooms that do not have one at the present time.
My Philosophy:
It is our job as educators to model 21st century skills and digital learning skills. We need to facilitate the learning rather than just talk at our students. Making learning relevant to the students will increase the likelihood of the student remembering important concepts while at the same time improving various skills. My goal is to have each student love learning so that they become life long learners throughout their entire life. I also hope that our students become a positive force in the country in the future.
