Class Description:
I teach the AVID students. These are those middle of the road students who tend to get overlooked in the classroom. They are first generation college directed in their family. We support them in all their classes and give them strategies to become successul not only in the classroom, but in life as well. The other class I teach is ESL English. These students are second language learners and need more hands on approach when it comes to understanding English literature. They need more visuals and cues to translate what they are learning into their own language and then back into English.

My Philosophy:
Education does not come from a book it comes from feeling you belong. A student will not learn if they feel there is no connection with the information or the person trying to pass the knowledge on.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because school was hard for me. I enjoy finding ways to interest students who remind me of myself at this age. Learning can be fun but it begins by making connections with the students.
