My class is one of a wide range of students including one gifted student and one needing modifications and all others in between. The male to female ratio is 14 to 13.

My Philosophy:
Education should be something students view as enjoyable as well as beneficial , for if students enjoy learning they will be more motivated. Things they learn now will later be used in various walks of life.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am the mother of three adult children and two grandchildren. I live in a rural area with farmland all around me, which for years had been farmed by my husband. My elderly parents live nearby. I also have 2 sisters and a very large group of in-laws. We are a very close knit family.
College and Degrees:
I have a BA degree in education and am certified to teach grades 1 through 8 and special education. I have also taken various additional courses in the Spalding Method.

Interests:
I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and having family gatherings. Going to the movies with friends or family and reading are other things I take pleasure in.
Employment History:
I am a retired public school teacher, having taught 33 years in various schools throughout this parish. I have taught grades 3 through 6 and special education, all of which I am certified to teach. This is my second year at Sacred Heart School.
Why Do I Teach?:
Teaching lets me see the hearts of children, whether young ones or preteens. It is into these hearts that I hope to instill a love for reading and learning, which will last a lifetime.
