I teach in a STEM Pathways Initiative program called BIOBASE Inquiry. This program is open to 7th graders, and we teach 150 students/year about crime scene investigation through forensics and biotechnology. Students apply to BIOBASE Inquiry and spend 12 3.5-hour days solving mock crime scenes, using high-tech lab equipment, working as a team to create crime scene reports & presentations, and become excited about science.
Position:
STEM Teaching Specialist
Needs:
As a STEM teacher, I see a need in other classrooms for more hands-on science. The funds that I am looking for would help all of Portsmouth schools, not just Churchland Middle School, by purchasing a modeling and simulation software.
