Every child has the opportunity to learn new and great things. When a child is faced with hardships within their community and difficulties in their learning process, it makes the role as a teacher much more challenging and significant. I teach moderate to severe special education students at a title 1 high school in a low socioeconomic neighborhood. It is a community where great things can happen.
Every special education student has the opportunity to learn regardless of their disability. I believe that my students should be allowed access to general education curriculum.
