Class Description:
I am one of three, 1st grade teachers at Brook Elementary. I have 11 girls and 12 boys in my classroom. We have a portable smart board in our classroom that we use on a daily basis.
Position:
1st grade teacher
Needs:
The more technology I have in my classroom the better. Technology helps my students gain further knowledge on a daily basis in all areas. Technology also helps keep the kids interested. They love having the opportunity to work on the computers or with the smart board.
Personal Information:
About Me:
This is my 6th year of teaching. The first year I was a substitute teacher. The following 2 years I spent teaching in a special education classroom. Two years after that I taught kindergarten. This year I'm teaching 1st grade and I'm hoping to stay in this grade for a long while. I've been married for 4 years to my wonderful husband and we have a 1 year old little girl!!
College and Degrees:
I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Muskingum University. This allows me to teacher Preschool through 3rd grade. I also have my reading endorsement which enables me to teach reading in grades K-12.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love teaching! I love being able to make a difference in childrens lives.
