Standard Digital Camera Lab, $2799.00, 0.00% raised
Standard Digital Camera Lab
Single Unit Why I need this:
Students are completing three major social studies projects throughout the year. Their multimedia projects related to our state and how geography, civics, and history has impacted us. They are making connections between their own lives/families and their research. In addition, we are making digital stories after we complete writing projects. We need the cameras to provide visual evidence to support the facts we find and to provide pictures that accompany the stories and reports that we write.

Class Description:
Our class is full of enthusiastic, high energy learners who live in a high risk, high poverty, high crime neighborhood. While they are facing many challenges in their lives, they are getting excited about learning because of the technology that we are beginning to bring into our class!
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
1. We need scanners to use in completion of our research and writing projects. 2. We need digital cameras to take pictures that correlate with our research and writing projects. 3. We need three more USB head phones to record ourselves reading our projects. 4. We need 17 more computers so that we can have 1-to-1 computing throughout our school day in all topic areas.
My Philosophy:
I believe that children must learn that they are the masters of their own fate, regardless of the obstacles they may face in life. It is never to early to begin preparing them to locate resources, utilize tools, and integrate technology into their lives. Internet resources are easily accessible in this day. Even our youngest children deserve the opportunity to explore the world of technology to create their own success. The resources available with a computer in their hands are immeasurable.
