I teach two 8th grade classes: English Language Arts and AVID
In ELA, I teach students who range from special needs to academically gifted. AVID is a program that exposes "middle of the road" students to organizational strategies, tutoring, and advanced course work, to put them on the path to college.
Position:
Teacher
Needs:
Beyond teaching my content and trying to foster a desire to be life-long readers and learners, my goal is to create a truly digital classroom!
My Philosophy:
How much time do you have?!? The past nine years have served to shape my beliefs and feelings about education. Although my teaching philosophy has changed over the years, there are two qualities that have remained constant as things I consider to be vital to teaching: 1) the importance for a teacher to relate to his/her students, and the ability to allow those students to relate to their teacher, and 2) being able to adjust teaching to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.
