I was a newspaper journalist for about seven years before I became a high school teacher. I still love writing and use my journalism experience and stories to teach the students about literature, my other love. On a personal note, I adore old Jazz music from the 30s on. I can't seem to get enough of Billie Holiday, Ella, Duke and Louis.
