My room is similar to a Resource Room. My students are Visually Impaired students who are mainstream but need extensive modifications and training in Braille, low vision devices, Orientation and Mobility, adaptive technology and Independent Living skills (ILS). In addition to teaching this extended curriculum I also provide support to my students general education classes as needed. I work with my student’s general education teacher to help modify classroom assignments to make them meaningful to my students and to create assignment in a medium that the students are able to assess, it may be Braille, enlarged print or in an auditory file.
