Why Do I Teach?:
Teaching in an elementary school provides an environment of hopes and dreams that may one day come true for many young people. Seeing children with hopes and dreams, combined with energy and drive makes teaching a rewarding field to work in. Children truly appreciate a teacher who will listen to them and learn from them. Each day starts with vast possibilities to learn and to see how others can achieve. Most days these achievements may start small, yet one day may be how a child sees his/her true value or discover his/her future goals. Each day a student is always able to share something that shows the importance of not giving up on a student. It is wonderful to work in a district where your colleagues work and share with each other. We are fortunate to achieve many things by listening and learning from each other. Last year I was very fortunate to experience a professional growth plan teaching our team how to work together. Having time provided to develop this skill has been advantageous to our teachers and especially beneficial to our students.
