Class Description:
My classroom consists of students from several third grade cluster classrooms. Each day I teach 8 to 10 identified gifted students.
Position:
Gifted Resource Teacher
Needs:
The needs of these gifted students range from academic to social emotional.
My Philosophy:
I believe that all students have the right to learn something new everyday. In past years so much emphasis has been put on the needs of struggling students, gifted and high-achieving students have been ignored in many classrooms. My role as a gfted specialist is to expose these students to ideas and concepts that are not normally taught in the classroom. My classroom offers a safe haven for students that learn differently than others.
