Class Description:
I am a performing arts instructor and teach Choir, Co-teach Musical Theatre, BHC - Black History Chorale (new course this year-learning black history through song,) 2 sections of Piano 1 and 1 section of Piano 2. After school hours I have a school spirit club, madrigals and gospel choir (starting in Dec.)

Needs:
2 flip cameras and a SMART board The technology will be used for more than one video project. We are fighting to keep our department alive. One project will showcase what the students are learning and how the arts are incorporated into their total education. Anotherproject is to develop video and audio portfolios for the students. In addition to that the flip cameras will be used for the BHC - a new course that is working on an original unit titled "Free to Feel." - What does freedom mean and are WE really free? Video and audio resposnses will be recorded as the unit progresses and the culminating product would be a documentary of the process.

Why Do I Teach?:
I teach because it gives me the opportunity to give back to others what was given to me. There are several teachers in Ansonia, CT who impacted my life greatly... Ms. McGrath (5th grade), Ms. Christon(English 12), Ms Kohut (Music) and Ms. Balco (4th grade) just to name a few. I was one of six children (#4) and needed to find my own unique gifts... there was very little I could do that one of my siblings before me hadn't done already! Listed above are some of the teachers who taught me to dig a little deeper, try a little harder, to focus on my strengths while building up my weaknesses and encouraged me, along with my parents, to believe I could achieve anything I put my mind to. It is my turn now to do the same for others and I love it!!
