My Philosophy:
Theatre Arts is a class in which all students can learn and be involved. Theatre supports and enriches all academic classes in highly engaging activities as well as teaches many important social and business skills. My job as a teacher/facilitatoris to give students a safe place to learn and practice these skills that will serve them now and in the future -- even if an career in the arts is not what they desire.
Personal Information:
About Me:
I am married and the mother of two young children. I was a flight attendant for Continental Express for two years before I decided to become a teacher.
College and Degrees:
I graduated with a BFA in acting from Baylor University. I attended the Asolo Conservatory (Florida State University) in Sarasota, FL for 1 1/2 years of graduate acting school. I recieved my teaching certification from the University of Houston along with a minor in English.
Favorite Books:
Jane Eyre, Farenheit 451, and murder mysteries
Interests:
I love movies, acting, computer games, crafts with my children, hiking and camping.
Why Do I Teach?:
I love kids and getting them excited about something -- the way their faces light up when they suddenly understand or "get" something is truly motivating. Nothing is better than having an ex-student return and tell me how much I inspired or changed or postively affected his or her life.
