Class Description:
The music program serves all classes in this urban school of 510 students.
Position:
Music Educator
Needs:
We videotape our programs and performances in order to be able to view and evaluate them, as per National Music Standards. We need a TV mounted in our classroom so that we can view them.
My Philosophy:
I believe that students should be encouraged to share their talents. They should put forth their BEST at all times and by being able to see themselves they can be motivated to continue doing their best or to improve on other areas.
Personal Information:
College and Degrees:
I have double certification in both music education and elementary education. I am currently conducting doctoral research and anticipate receiving my PhD degree in May 2010.
Employment History:
I have taught in this local school district for 28 years, and have served as an adjunct instructor to preservice teachers in evenings at a local university for 15 years.
Why Do I Teach?:
To motivate my students to share their best efforts and to enable them to enjoy learning.
